Standard Strength Weightlifting

San Jose’s premier USAW Club! We provide a team atmosphere for athletes of all skill levels to participate and improve in the classic Olympic Lifts, coached by national tier coaches and experienced athletes. This unique atmosphere implements California Strength’s programming in a group setting to create an energetic and competitive atmosphere!

Standard Strength runs a full Olympic Weightlifting program where you’ll learn and refine the Olympics lifts––Snatch, Clean, and Jerk. Weightlifting classes are one hour long. Beginners and advanced lifters are welcome.

New to Weightlifting?

Your first few classes will be an introduction to the sport, what you and your teammates do might vary, the goal is to get you acclimated to the movements. Set up a free week to learn more.

Athlete seeking a New Gym

If you’re familiar with weightlifting, you’ll fit right into classes and the programming. Modifications will be made as seen fit depending on experience and abilities.

Satellite Athletes

Athletes training using an alternate coach or program are permitted, we are happy to provide you the space, equipment, team environment, and even a coach’s eye to help you achieve your goals. Please be courteous to those participating in the scheduled program, share equipment/platforms and aware of the time of classes/open gyms.


Monday – Friday: 
  • Open Gym – 4:00pm – 5:30pm
  • Weightlifting – 5:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Weightlifting – 7:00pm – 8:00pm


  • Open Gym – 10am-noon

Classes begin with a group warm up, barbell mechanics and review of the day’s programming and then athletes are partnered up or work individually through the day’s program.
